Ashapura provide high quality competitively priced Calcined Bauxite for High Friction (Anti-skid) Surfacing with a 70+ PSV. Over the last number of years, they have supplied thousands of tonnes to the UK & US for HFS installation. Ashapura's proximity to ports and the fact that they own their own port and fleet of ships gives them the competitive edge in today's challenging  market environment, where costs, quality and time are of the essence. Ashapura have the scale & logistical capability to efficiently produce & deliver large quantities of product. 

Calcined Bauxite is obtained by calcining (heating) superior grade Bauxite at high temperature, which removes moisture, thereby increasing the alumina content. Compared to an alumina content of about 57 % to 58 % in raw Bauxite, Calcined Bauxite has an alumina content (Al2O3) of 84 % to 88 %. The heating is carried out in rotary kilns and is calcined at temperatures from 1200º C - 1800ºC. The calcination plant is situated at Jam-Khambaliya in Saurashtra region (India) with an annual capacity of 100,000 tonnes. The plant is within a radius of 50 kms to major international ports.   

Supplied to UK & Ireland in 1-3mm grade, the Calcined Bauxite complies with Clause 924, BBA/HAPAS Type 1 and TII (formerly NRA) requirements. It can be supplied direct from India in container loads at very competitive prices.

It is available in two colours.

PB 1000 - A dark grey stone which does not provide a significant colour contrast with a typical asphalt road

PB 500 - A whitish buff stone suitable where a colour contrast is needed with the existing surface.
